The current VMSpc program, v4.0.5 has Two versions. One installer is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP and Vista. Use the Win-7 version for all Windows versions above that, to include Win-8 and 10.

The current drivers are for all Window versions circa June 2015.
Use these in place of any older version (for the USB jib only). Device drivers from CDs prior to June 2015 Will Not Work on Windows 7~10
You may continue to use them for Win98 ~ XP.

XP users: NOTE
You'll need to manually add this device driver.  The older OS does not understand the newer (circa Win-8 +) device driver signing scheme. It will fail when "Install Driver" is run.  

The included VMSpc installer is going to install v4.0.5 which is our latest jam-packed tool for Engine and Transmission monitoring. It also supports PressurePro tire monitoring (TPMS) and ABS diagnostic meessages. The newest release bundle includes fixes and many other improvements over v2.5 through 4.0.4.  It will work with all Jibs. ...It may still have an occasional bug... however, as we work the air out of the lines and you find something that needs fixing, let us know! 


Be sure to use the latest signed driver package for easy installation. The only Unsupported Windows versions are: Windows pre-Win95 and RT versions of Win8

A note on installation changes:
We've changed *where* the program and layout files are created and saved to. 
In the beginning... they were here: C:\VMSpc
with v4.beta through v4.04 they're in C:\VMSpc_v4.0.x\VMSpc
In v4.0.5 and above, they'll be here: C:\VMSpc\v4.0.x

Why? This is confusing! Well, we didn't want to risk overwriting a given folder and its unique Layouts, Trip, Odometer, Maint and Diags data. Yet, our first try at this wasn't as intuitive as we'd like it to be. Many folks don't change the name of their layout from "Default" so, this is a band-aid for human nature. :-) In the future, your installations will look like this:

	C:\VMSpc\v4.0.5
	     ...\v4.0.6
		etc
At any point you may just delete a previous folder. If you need the old data (layouts or otherwise) just delete. No un-install required!

Oterwise:

Add the hardware-drivers for the JIB by running Install_Drivers.exe
Reboot.  If you have XP, you'll need to manually add this driver.  Windows XP will not understand the Win-8/10 device certificates or its process. 

Run the App "VMSpcSetupXP.exe" *if* your laptop PC is running XP or an older operating system.
Run the app "VMSpcSetup.exe" *if* your laptop PC is running Win-7 or newer.
## You must reboot for it to work ##

At first startup of VMSpc, you'll see a Catapillar error. This is actually a prompt to pick an engine; do so then.  
If you don't see any Engine Files in the location it chooses for you, use the "Look In" mini-browser (top of window) to open the C:\VMSpc 4.0.5 folder.  As new RV engines are released, we'll add a folder labeled "Additional Engines."  Yours may be in there if its a 2016 or newer coach.

Prepare Comminications:
You'll do this as the program may not know if you're connection to the jib is serial, USB or Wireless.

If you have a WiFi jib:
Plug it in; With your mouse-pointer in the VMSpc program window, click:
<Advanced>
<Communications>
"Check" the box labeled "AutoRestart"
Select <JS550 WiFi> as the JIB model.

If you have a Serial or USB jib:
Plug that in instead.
With your mouse-pointer in the VMSpc program window, click:
<Advanced>
<Communications>
"Check" the box labeled "AutoRestart"
Button: <Scan For Jib Connections>

Your device is highlighted in blue.
(ex.: "COM4 VMSpc Virtual Serial Port")
Button: <OK>

Data packets and whatnot will appear in the boxes and your gauge screen will be populated with fresh data in the background.
Button: <OK>

In the event this isn't working out, go back to Scanning for jib connections, see if there's a second device listed. If there is, select it then, <OK>

You should, now, be up and running. Time to select <Layout> and <Save As> to save your first gauge screen. Remember: save often and after any changes made to alarms, setting, trips ar screen items.

Still not working out?
As a "sanity check," try installing the driver on another PC just to confirm this isn't a JIB or USB cable issue. Bad cables have come up, as have wonky PC USB ports.

What do the LEDs on the JIB tell me?


The green LED should be on solid when the JIB is powered. The red LED should flash quickly indicating that it is alive and running.

A solid Blue means its wireless system is ready for connection; blinking when its established.
No Blue LED on a wireless Jib is a bad thing. Call us. 

Specific red LED blinking behavior depends on the model of JIB--but generally indicates the JIB is having a converstaion with the engine. May be a bit one-sided...but its typically a neutral-to-good sign. Otherwise:

JS500 Serial / Serial-to-USB:

This is a J1708-only device.

Slow red blink: JIB is not receiving engine data
Fast red blink (flicker): JIB is receiving engine data
Solid-on or no RED LED: unit is broken; return for service.

JS501 USB:

The USB-jib may be connected to one or two different engine data busses. They are referred to as J1708 and J1939.
Red LED:
Single slow blink: JIB is not receiving engine data
Double blink: JIB is receiving J1708 data
Triple blink: JIB is receiving J1939 data
Flicker : JIB is receiving data from both data busses; a real gab session!
Solid-on or no RED LED: unit is broken; return for service.

JS550 WiFi:

This is a J1939-only device.
Single slow blink: JIB is not receiving engine data
Flicker : JIB is receiving engine data; a real gab session!
Blue LED: 
Solid: On, ready for connection (not connected to program.)
Flashing: Moving engine data to program. This may continue during brief interruptions.
No Red LED: unit is broken; return for service.
No Blue LED: unit is broken; return for service.
